First, you must be a registered voter. If not sure, check with the Registrar of Voters for your County.

Maybe it is time to also clarify a point. Some people wishing to avoid Jury Duty, feel that jury calls come from the Registered Voter lists. NOT SO! For several years, California jury calls have been made up from the DMV’s Drivers License lists.
Second, if not registered, telephone your Registrar of Voters for a Registration Packet.
Third, if registered or when registering, ask to be placed on the Absentee Ballot listing. This, so you will receive absentee ballots for future elections. This is to assure your being able to vote in the event you unexpectedly are unable to visit the polls on election day. For example unexpected illness, visitors, a great ball game, etc.
